What addons are for
Addons are separate plugins that add new syntax to Skript. Your scripts can then use those events, conditions, effects and expressions as if they were built in. They do nothing until a script calls them.
Well-known addons
| Addon | What it adds | Good fit when |
|---|---|---|
| SkBee | NBT, scoreboards, teams, boss bars, recipes, structures | You need item data or visuals core Skript lacks |
| skript-gui | Structured inventory menus with click handlers | You build several menus or paged GUIs |
| skript-reflect | Access to Java classes and methods from scripts | No other addon exposes the API you need |
| skript-yaml | Reading and writing YAML files | Settings or data should be editable files |
| skript-db | SQL database connections | Data is shared across servers or a website |

Installing an addon
- Confirm the addon's latest release supports your Skript and Minecraft versions.
- Stop the server and place the addon jar in
plugins/beside Skript. - Start the server and check the console for the addon's startup message.
- Reload or restart, then use its syntax in a test script first.
Choosing addons safely
Check maintenance
Look at the date of the last release and whether recent issues get answers. An addon that stopped updating can block you from updating Skript or Minecraft.
Install only what you use
Every addon adds startup time and potential syntax clashes. Note at the top of each script which addons it needs, and remove addons nobody uses.
Download sources
Get addons from their official GitHub, Modrinth or Hangar pages. Treat scripts that rely on skript-reflect with extra care; reflection can do anything a Java plugin can.
Finding syntax
Community documentation sites such as SkriptHub and skUnity index Skript and addon syntax side by side, which helps when you are unsure which addon provides a line. For core Skript, the official docs are authoritative for each version.
